With the popularity of downloadable music files and iPods, it is no wonder that more and more people are wondering what to do when their lovely iPod gets broken! Well, one innovative company has come up with a solution. It is a website called buymybrokenipod.com and they accept broken iPods and pay for them through PayPal. Completely online. What do they do with the broken iPods? They bundle them and resell them to small businesses that will use the parts to refurbish them and resell them! Brilliant! Read this article on Springwise.com to learn more about this interesting idea.

One of the best things I know for green living is to recycle goods that you buy everyday. I came across this article the other day about how buying secondhand goods for your child is actually healthier! It makes sense when you consider all of the chemicals and fumes that come off a new item when you finally wrestle it from the oodles of plastic packaging that surrounds it. Why is it that they always surround new toys with about four layers of super dense, difficult to cut plastic? Didn't anyone clue them in about the greening of our planet? Sheesh! It is so annoying to need a pair of scissors every time you want to open something.
So then I did a little research to see what else was being said about this new idea... I found one article that gives you tips about buying and selling used children's items and one that also wrote about the healthy benefits of buying used items. I just think this is great. I have always bought used items for my daughter. She gets some really nice clothes and it doesn't break the bank either.

I was browsing the internet the other day when I came across a site called Triplepundit. It is a neat site. They talk a lot about the whole green movement in business and they have a weekly segment called Startup Friday. One article, in particular, caught my attention because it was a cool story of a company called Green 3, who makes organic cotton clothing and has some very innovative ways to recycle materials to create products. One t-shirt is even made out of left over material from apparel and upholstery factories that would have been discarded. Some scarves are made out of the t-shirt scraps that didn't make it to production and tote bags are made out of recycled suit jackets. How fun.
