I have always imagined that a bit of solitude in a mountain cave somewhere would be a cool thing to do but I have never actually done it. My friend Bob Kull did… well, he didn’t go to a mountain cave but he spent a year alone in the wilderness. No human contact for a full year. Then he wrote a book about it.
The purpose of his trip was to find enlightenment. Did he find it? To find out, you will have to listen to his interview.
Bob Kull’s Interview with Cirkla Radio Show
On his website, he recently added a video that his friend Patty filmed of him before they left the camp. You can also see his image gallery and slideshow with photos and descriptions of the experience. Definitely check it out.
We would love to know what your thoughts are. If you’ve listened to Bob’s interview or have read his book, please comment below! You can buy an autographed copy of Bob’s book at www.bobkull.org.

I just love the way the internet has changed our lives. Earlier this week, I was interviewing Tim Miejan of the Edge Magazine and we were talking about his new Digital Edge. Tim has been the editor of the Edge Magazine for years and has recently taken ownership of the magazine, along with Cathy Jacobsen. I have long been a reader of the Edge, so this was a real privilege for me to have an opportunity to chat with him about the direction of the magazine.
With the popularity of Facebook and Twitter, MySpace and Digg… it seems that everyone is hopping on the internet bandwagon. Now, you can even read magazines online! What’s fun is that you can even turn the pages with real sounds effects! You’ve just got to try it if you haven’t already done so! (Just click on the big image to the left to check it out… just don’t forget to come back and read the rest of this post!) They even have it so that you can click on the ads to go directly to the website of the advertiser! How cool is that?
What I really like about what Tim and Cathy are doing is that they are really reaching out to the community in a very innovative way by offering the magazine THREE ways – first, digitally through the Digital Edge; second, through the paper version that can be found around the Upper Midwest; and thirdly, you can interact with the authors and even submit your own articles directly through the website. I really can’t decide which I like best. Good thing I don’t have to!
You can now download our interview with Tim Miejan on BlogTalkRadio . Tim Miejan is the editor of the Edge Magazine, an online & in-print magazine dedicated to raising the consciousness of the planet through great articles and building community with great people. The Digital Edge can be read online at www.soulofthecities.net.

This Hump Day thing kinda took me by surprise today! I woke up this morning and said to myself, “It’s a Hump Day! I need a Hump Day Hero!” So I wandered into Google Reader (reader.google.com – an absolute MUST if you like reading blogs!) and I found one for you!
The concept of the Hump Day Hero is to honor those bloggers that help us to get through the week with their fabulous writing and their magnanimous spirit!
This quiet, and not so quiet, beauty is from Australia. (They do turn out some good blogger folks!) Her blog is called Dreambuilders Australia and her name is Liara Covert.

As a person who loves discussing consciousness, I am always drawn back to Liara’s posts. She is fabulous for exploring the depths of consciousness and the human potential. Liara also posts a lot of comments, so I know that she is reading and listening to others, which is important in the blogger world!
What I didn’t know about Liara is that she spent a short time as a teen learning the circus trapeze! How fun! I also learned that Liara is pretty serious about writing, which certainly does not surprise me and that she has a few e-books for people to enjoy!
Here are a few of her most recent posts for you to enjoy!

Please join us this evening (7 – 7:30 PM CST) on BlogTalkRadio as I interview Phil Bolsta, author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything. Phil is a daily blogger – he collects heartwarming stories from all over the world and shares them with us on his blog, Triumph of the Spirit.

I woke up at around 5:30 this morning, which is not unusual. For the last few years, I just can’t sleep in much. I wanted to, but it just wasn’t happening. All the better, I suppose, because the first few hours of quiet morning house are just so wonderful. The weather this weekend has been absolutely perfect. Warm enough to enjoy the sun and cool enough to feel the breeze on my skin through the window. What a wonderful way to celebrate Memorial Day!
I have been busy this weekend doing things under the surface for Cirkla. I am really excited to tell you about it, but I suppose that I need to really just wait until it is ready. (That is SO hard for me!) When it IS ready, you will see a big button at the top when you log in to Cirkla. Don’t worry, it’s close… so stay tuned! If you haven’t been to Cirkla yet, please check it out. www.cirkla.com
I am really excited about the new interviews I’ve got coming up. This week, I am interviewing Phil Bolsta. Phil wrote Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything. Phil is a collector of stories, so it will be fun to see what he has to say about his own life!

Next week, I will be interviewing Tim Meijan of the Edge Magazine. Here is an excerpt from their website:
The Edge may be one of America’s best-kept secrets as a monthly magazine that explores the evolution of consciousness, the integrative approaches of complementary healing and the experience of living an authentic, holistic life. The Edge is committed to sharing information, wisdom and resources with you. And, we are committed to businesses, organizations and individuals who support our collective journey to wholeness and balance.

The Edge magazine has been a staple in the Twin Cities area and is set to go global with their new Digital Edge website. I am looking forward to my interview with Tim to find out what he is planning to do now that he has taken ownership of this wonderful magazine.

Are you awake? I think that my awakening is like Rain Man playing with a light switch. I am on. I am off. I am on. I am off. I love life. It is meaningless. I love life. It is meaningless. I am still struggling with my dualistic nature but I do get that this is all just a play.
My fiance is helping to coordinate the First Twin Cities Conference on Awakening. (Yeah! Go Eric!) They even interviewed him and his two co-creators for the Edge magazine, which was kinda fun… so I will be there and would love to meet some of you.
We hope that you will stop by if you are milling around the Twin Cities the end of this month (May 30, 2009). You can read more about it on our Cirkla Holistic Event Calendar.
