Although I am still not sure why she sleeps with sea glass (seems a bit uncomfortable to me!), Amy (AKA “Bella”) is a true gift to this community. With her beautiful photographic montages, her blog is a pleasure to read. Recently, Bella created a Blog Party to help Brandi celebrate Joy Rebel Day. Be sure and take a look at her collage that she created in honor of the event! Beautiful!

Here are some of Bella’s most recent posts:

How Will You? How will you spread joy today?
Have a great week everyone!

When I was poking around online looking for information to get the word out about Joy Rebel Day last week, I came across an interview of Brandi Reynolds by none other than Jan Lundy. What makes this fact remarkable is that Jan is one of my upcoming interviewees on the Cirkla Radio Show and I had just been reading her book, Your Truest Self, that morning. Isn’t life just wonderfully synchronistic? So, I was telling the story to Lisa Erickson (Mommymystic) and she said that she knew Jan too! Lisa had written a review of Jan’s book for Amazon as Lisa is often known to do.
So, Jan, great work out there. I will be sure and tune in to your blog and look forward to our interview!
Please join us this evening (7 – 7:30 PM CST) on BlogTalkRadio as I interview Jenny Pawlowsky. Jenny owns the B @ Peace Yoga studio in Stuart, FL, and will be talking with us about the practice of yoga and how to gain peace in today’s chaotic energy.
If you miss the live interview, you can download the recording for free at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/cirklagirl/2009/07/09/Cirkla-Radio-Show-Interview-with-Jenny-Pawlowsky.

I know that I am a few days late in writing this, but that is perfect because there is a LOT going on in what I am now calling THE JOY REBEL MOVEMENT. OK, so you create a special day… a day of joy… what more could you expect? I want to invite you to the party. Here are just a FEW of the wonderful online peeps that are getting involved with this movement. Be sure and join the blog party!
Welcome to the Joy Rebellion – Brandi Reynolds
She Sleeps with Sea Glass – Joy Rebel Blog Party from July 1 – 8th
Artcetera – Finding Joy at the DMV
Set the Rebel Free – Lance from Jungle of Life
Happy Joy Rebel Day by Sherri of Life After Web
Joy Lost, Joy Found by Jan Lundy of Awake is Good
I can’t believe that, after all that talk about Joy Rebel Day and interviewing Brandi, that I forgot to post about my Joy Rebel Day! I have to say that, the most fun that I had was the night before Joy Rebel Day when my daughter and I had a “Girl’s Night Out” and went out to a fancy dinner (at Applebee’s) and then we went shopping and she bought herself a silver sequined hat! It is so stylin’!
But, on the day itself, I took the day off so that I could do “whatever makes me joyful” as the day suggested to do. It was a bit tough to decide what to do because I think that I often do what is joyful. I have a good life and I am very fortunate! But, one thing that I have not done for a while is to go clothes shopping so I did that. I also spent some time reading and relaxing, which is joyful. My MOST joyful part of the actual Joy Rebel Day had to be meeting Brandi, Darrah and Lance on the Cirkla Radio Show! Fun!

I was poking around in Sherri’s blog (Life After Web) and she mentioned something about wrecking a journal… “Wreck a journal?” I thought… “What is that?” So I poked around a bit more. Here is another post about it. Her pictures looked really fun and I was inspired in a passive sort of way (not active yet… still catching up with my 30 posts in 30 days!) If you are also curious about wrecking journals and what it all means, check out the instructions page for how to properly wreck a journal. Or, perhaps THIS is the instigator of the whole thing?
This reminded me that ONE of the many things that I thought of doing for Joy Rebel Day (it’s today, by the way) is to work on our sister project, which I will explain in another post in more detail. The gist of it is this… there are four of us sisters, so we each make an altered book and then pass it along for the other sisters to add a bit. Could I combine a journal wrecking with an altered book project? We shall see… now I feel that I must actually START that project!
There I was, out enjoying my Joy Rebel Day… when it occured to me! I forgot to post a Hump Day Hero this week!
So here we are…when I got home, I checked out my Google Reader (the source of most of my Hump Day Hero selections) and there was a post about Joy Rebel Day! Of course, after reading Sherri’s post on Life After Web, I knew that I had found my Hump Day Hero. (I had thought about making Brandi the Hump Day Hero today, but I already made her one before! I guess that she can be a fill-in, just in case Sherri isn’t up for it..)
Besides, of course, Sherri’s total adoption of the whole Joy Rebel concept, she also drew me in when she spoke of taking a vacation on a Saturday in her own backyard…hammock and all!
